The Hive Mind Blog

I'm Rowan Dobranski, a high school student in DC. This is my happy place, where I write my thoughts on books, words, and anything regarding language! Oh, and I absolutely love bees. They inspire my writing constantly.

The sun gleams high in the sky, offering a comforting warmth to all who reside within its domain. A graceful breeze licks the water down below, and golden granules of sand are polished to perfection by the waves which lap at the shore in a serene, steady rhythm. Ancient mountains encircle the picturesque landscape, seamlessly merging with the glowing beaches of the beautiful lake. Moss and lichen paint stone faces with wondrous stories of desirous, nurturing love and earnest, earthly passion. Weather-worn peaks provide protection from wrathful wrongdoings refracted in pure, promising clouds. Insects chirp with innocent inquiries while birds spin luscious melodies of sonic silk, appealing to the winds which scatter the seeds of their delicate song. A virtuous curiosity bathes the scene in tantalizing rays of preternatural light, promising and guiding, wishing and wondering. Above the water breathes a rust-colored forest, the story of sturdy spruce and piquant pines, home to a cabin which two call their own. A path of rich dirt outlined by soft stones is guide to Petal and Micah on their trip through the untamed fields and down to the precious pool of liquid sapphire sparkling with a casual noontime invitation. Their hands are clasped, though Petal stops frequently to ponder ladybugs and wildflowers which offer up their intricate patterns for view. Micah ponders too, keeping hold of Petal’s small, childlike hand with his own small, childlike hand. The two converse about something everchanging and unimportant, just as the warm breeze lazily navigates the treetops above, heading nowhere in particular.
